Nothing about you is sold, rented or shared. That is the part that will not change.
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which tests people use. It sets cookies in your browser and tells us things like which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what kind of device it was. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not connect it to your account or your scores.
Advertising may be added later to keep the tests free. If it is, this page will be updated before it goes live and this site will say plainly what the ad network can see. Your email address and your scores stay out of both the analytics and any future advertising.
If you never make an account
You can take every test on this site without telling us who you are. We do not ask for your name, your email or your address, and your answers and your score stay in your browser and are gone when you close the tab. Google Analytics still counts the visit and sets its cookies, as described above.
If you make an account
An account is optional and exists for one purpose: saving your scores so you can see which categories you are weakest in. When you create one we store:
- Your email address. It is how you sign in, since there is no password.
- The state and license type you were studying when you signed up, so we can tell you when your state gets new material.
- Each attempt you complete: which test, how many questions, your score, how long it took, and how you did per category.
We do not store the individual answers you picked, and we never see or store a password because the site does not use one.
Who else touches your data
Two services, both acting on our behalf:
- Google Firebase handles sign-in and stores your account and your saved attempts. Security rules restrict every record to the account that created it.
- Kit holds your email address for occasional messages about the site, tagged with your state and whether you are studying the commercial or private track. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect your account or your saved scores.
Nobody else receives your information. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it or hand it to data brokers.
Storage in your browser
The site uses your browser's local storage for two things: keeping you signed in between visits, and holding a finished attempt for a moment if you take a test before signing in, so the score is not lost when you do. These are functional, not tracking, and they never leave your device except when saving an attempt you asked us to save.
Opting out of analytics
Google publishes a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics collecting anything from you, on this site and every other site that uses it. Blocking cookies or using a browser that blocks trackers has the same effect here. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
Deleting your data
Email albert@mypesticidelicense.com from the address on the account and ask. We will delete the account, the saved attempts and the Kit record, and confirm when it is done. No form, no retention period, no argument.
Children
This site is for adults pursuing an occupational license. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the date at the top changes and account holders get an email. We will not quietly start collecting more than this.
